My experience was outstanding. I went to the help desk on campus. They are usually helpful they could not do anything about my computer.I brought it in around noon and got a call it was done the same day. Not only are they fast every time I get a virus and have to get my computer fixed all my files are gone...these guys did not lose anything. My laptop came back exactly like it had been before it broke and they even cleaned the outside. I will reccomend you to all my friends– Brook
Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. What is your Prices Range? - While most computer repair charge for estimates Always Thinking Computers offers FREE diagnoses on all Apple and PC Repairs, prices can ever be confirmed until the technician does the hands-on work of diagnosing the problem. Because of that, you should always review any company’s pricing before any work begins.
Does the company charge a flat rate for most repairs lie ATC? Or do their computer repair specialists work on an hourly basis? Do any computer services – such as data recovery – cost extra and, if so, how much? Knowing a computer repair company’s pricing policies up front, can help you made a wise decision for your computer and your budget.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Be careful who you choose. Many Companies use a "Burn and Turn" method to repair Computers. These places often charge large fee's to keep your data or your personal information could be lost. Avoid these places.
If you have a laptop that just won't turn on? Before you bring it to the store unplug it pull out the battery and hold the power button down for 10 seconds. Replace the battery plug in and try again. Many people have come in in tears and left smiling from this simple trick that Always Thinking Computers has performed for Free over and over.
Desktop Computer Won't turn on after a move? Simply take off the side of the case, usually held on by two screws on the back of the case. (Always be sure to ground yourself and unplug your computer before removing side panel) Pull out ram and reinsert. Make sure the chips are tight and snug. Often times RAM comes a little loose and just needs to be snugged back into place.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Review Pricing- Make sure the place charges a price yo can afford. Different computer places charge vastly different prices.
Warranties and Guarantees - Computer repair work is only worthwhile if the job is done right. To ensure ask what warranties and guarantees the company offers. Note how long the guarantee is good for, and what it covers. A quality computer repair company stands by its work and offers guaranteed computer support.
Always Thinking Computers Guarantees all work we perform.
Ask about certifications and professional affiliations. Many people have some knowledge(The $25 Craigslist Tech) of how to do basic computer repair.
But when you need qualified repairs, you need a computer repair expert, who can provide you with the level of computer support you need and deserve. Always Thinking Computers only hires technicians with a MA, MS, M.eng or equivalent verifiable experience technician that works for us, guaranteeing that they are experts in their field. That means our computer support staff can deal a wide range of computer repair and networking issues possible.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. There are usually five types of computer repair shops:
1. They know the problem and the way to fix it, but they overcharge you for things they never did or computer parts they never bought. There are countless ways how an evil – minded computer geek could profit from any kind of problem, if he has no conscience whatsoever.
2. They do not know the reason of your PC malfunctions or are incompetent, so they just wait a few hours and charge you anyway for some vaguely defined “computer diagnosis”. When you bring back your PC the same problems occur.
3. They do not know the problem, but after discovering the reason, they fix it. (but slowly). These are the good guys, though not very professional and usually charge by the hour
4. They are not able to fix your PC and do not charge you for anything. Maybe they don’t have the necessary equipment or experience and do only the minor repair works. Since they did not fix anything, you don’t have to pay them no real drawback except a waste of time
5. Than there is Always Thinking Computers, we immediately identify the reason for free and fix your PC or Apple in short time, telling you what was wrong and what needed to be fixed and how to avoid it in the future. We charge very fair price for our services, and guarantee all our work.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. The Owner Tim Coyle saw the prices other stores were charging for rather simple tasks. Computers has been a hobby since 1982 when he learned how to write code in 2 basic computer languages at the age of 4.
Although his career had been Sales and Business management he saw a need for a computer store that did not charge outrageous fee’s. A Computer Store that treated their customers well and explained problems in a way a non-tech can understand instead of confusing people with “Geek Speak” and industry jargon.OSU Alumni
So in 2008 Tim, with the support of his now wife Mia created a new niche business, Computer Repair at reasonable prices, and since has earned the trust of over 3000 happy customers. Some of them have moved as far away as Florida and still ship computers to us for repair rather than use another computer repair technician.
