Sounder is a "show band" presenting an eclectic blend of original and cover songs we call "Alternative Blues & Variety." Our professional entertainers have accrued almost 200 years of experience, performing with major acts and many regional groups.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. That a client should now their audience and be sure that the group is right for them. Also, that they should make themselves aware of the things that are required to put on a show.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Most Entertainers have been working for years to perfect their crafts and do not appreciate being offered skimpy wages. Save money other ways.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. A person hiring a musical performance group should know their audience demographics, room and audience size, and budget limits, things like electrical power requirements, stage size, etc.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are a good-looking, professional organization specializing in entertaining live audiences. We take no shortcuts when it comes to our performances. Our original music is innovative and fun, and we work hard to involve the audience and encourage participation.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The ability to perform for people and make them smile, dance, and generally have a good time. It is the purpose for us being there.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Where are you booked next?

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Every show has at least a dozen stories associated with it. We deal with people, and each one has their own story and/or reason for being at a show.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That our job, although not always glamorous, is the best job in the world. We make people happy and let them get out of their hum-drum existence for a little while. To make people smile is always worth all the effort.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. For the whole group, it has been a life-long passion.

Q. What are your most common types of jobs?

A. We thrive on nightclub/lounge performances, festivals, casinos, private and corporate parties, wedding receptions.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Sounder is proud of all of our performances and make great efforts to insure each performance is our best.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. We never stop learning and growing. Our philosophy is "good enough isn't". Professionals always work to grow and learn more.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. The music business is always changing, and an artist must constantly be aware of the changes. The integration of technology in production is a continuing process.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. Our latest project was a performance at the Heritage Fair in Cottage Grove, OR. It is an outdoor event, and we played for an hour and a half. It was fun for them, and for us too.

A. We base our pricing on each event and the amount of travel necessary. Call us and we will negotiate to a win/win for your event.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Don't give up, learn you craft well, and practice, practice, practice. It's how a New Yorker will tell you to get to Carnegie Hall. Learn how to do business, if it is to be a profession, and always present and conduct yourself as a professional. Entertainment is a reputable profession.
