We've hired John on two different occasions for vented skylight installations on our 75 year old home which required structural skills and creativity to proceed, in addition to acquiring all the appropriate city work permits. John performed flawlessly and we were more than pleased with his work. He was able to match seamlessly the new work with the original finish of our ceilings and roof. Electrical work was both clean and carefully managed to place the skylights. He demonstrated expert skill in all phases of finish work including joinery, painting, drywall and drywall finish work. John also took great care to seal off our house to be virtually dust free while he completed the work. Additionally, John is a very humble and likable guy, the kind of contractor you like having in your home, especially when the job requires some time to finish. I could keep on going but I space limits more praise. He simply is the best at what he does and best of all he's a really good person.

Beautiful job. I will only work with licensed contractors on my property. Cummings Enterprises made my concrete look like new. They also cleaned up all the moss, needles, and leaves, plus, they didn't just blow it out into the street. Hire these guys.

YOU are the BEST!! We got other bids not from Thumbtack that were ridiculous. One guy said we needed new ribs for our fiberglass awning which wasn't the case, it just was dirty. Our roof, as we found out from John DID NOT need servicing!! He saved us well over $300.00 by being honest and trust worthy. We got a business card from him and will USE him in the future for other projects, other than painting (interior). He not only was on time, but kept in good contact with us. Frankly there is nothing that needs to be fixed with John Cummings Service.

John Cummings fixed the door jamb and repaired my screen door. I was worried that I needed to replace the entire door jamb and storm door, but John was able to repair it instead. John was nice to work with, did the job he said he would do and completed the work within the timeframe he estimated. I will hire John when I need work like this done in the future.

$50.00 per hour for work done hourly. Written estimates for larger projects which will include all of the notices that are required by the Oregon Construction Contractors Board.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually meet with a client to look at a project to determine if it is work to be done on a time and material basis or if I will provide a written estimate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in residential and light commercial construction since 1974 which includes new construction, remodels, and repairs. I completed Lead Inspector classes and was licensed as a lead paint inspector for several years. I have completed the Lead Paint Renovation courses and am licensed to work on homes built before 1978.
