Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When choosing a contractor always check with the Construction Contractors Board to verify an active license and proper bond/insurance amounts.
There is a direct link to the Oregon Construction Contractors board on my website...rapidrepairandremodel.com
You can check out my license #157044 or any other contractor's license history there.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. For some types of jobs, eg; very complex or projects where the homeowner may be doing some of the work it may be a cost savings to hire the contractor / sub contractor (if they are willing) by the hour even if it is a high hourly rate.
The homeowner paying by the hour will often get their moneys worth if the contractor is skilled in the trade they are performing.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Here is a good question to ask your remodeling contractor...
If you come across any dry rot or water damage during the demolition process what will you do and how will you deal with it ?
As a licensed contractor for over 17 years in Oregon and over 25 years in construction the last thing I want is an unhappy customer so I tell my customers upfront that my estimates do not include dry rot repair that is concealed (and it usually is). I simply can not see through walls and floors. The best and fairest procedure is to expose it and give the customer a cost to repair it before work continues.

Happy remodeling !

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. The reason my work stands out from other contractors is due to a combination of factors.
1 Experience; over 17 years as a licensed contractor, nearly 30years in the construction industry.
2.Skill; I am competent in many different trades eg; rough and finish carpentry, vinyl, tile, laminate flooring, dry rot repair, drywall tape n texture, painting, plumbing fixtures, door/window installation and more.
3.I care; and I can prove it with references.
I have never had a claim filed against me or my company with the CCB.
4.I am fast, fair and friendly !
5.I am good. I have pictures to prove it.

Happy remodeling !
