FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
To maintain Oregon State Landscape Contractors Licenses you have to have continuing education credits. There are two types of credits you have to have, Technical Credits and Business Credits. You must document that you have fulfilled your continuing education each time you renew your license, every two years. In addition, any classes that suppliers offer on new products for irrigation, fertilization, outdoor lighting, etc. are often attended.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We believe that you should be proud of all the work you do. Whether it is a tiny trimming job or a large landscape install. Because we go with this idea to each job, it is hard to say one that was more outstanding than another. There are good parts to all kinds of jobs. Maybe one of the best ones recently was a case where the customer could not grow anything in their yard. Everything that was planted died within a period of time. When we were first contacted by the customer it was apparent there was something wrong. We set out a plan which included soil testing. Once the testing was done, a plan of soil treatment was presented to her. (This was a severe case and the treatment plan took approximately 18 months.) We just did the updated soil testing at the end of the 2 years and WONDERFUL, we will begin planting her landscape plan, as originally designed, within the next few weeks. She was somewhat reluctant to go on this 18 month journey but she is now overjoyed. Her plants will grow and her landscape can be how she really wants it. This is gratifying. Severe Problem Solved......Customer Very Happy.
