Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When looking to hire a software developer for small business applications, rapid prototypes, custom databases, software applications, web sites, multi-media presentations or speaker support the most important things to consider are clear communications and reliability. If you have trouble communicating about your project or the developer is not reliable - is late with deliverables or does not deliver what you asked for and need - then they are worthless to you.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Choosing the right tool for the job is important. We use a high level development tool - combining data, graphics, sound, video and complex functionality - which facilitates very rapid implementation, flexibility and the ability to easily make changes. We use a very iterative approach, so you can see our progress quickly and make changes as necessary.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Communication is very important and we make sure we have a very clear understanding of your wants and needs before starting a project. Then at appropriate milestones (daily, weekly, etc.) we send screens or working software versions to you for your approval. Any changes to the original specification can be quickly made and the project more closely matches your wants and needs. This iterative process is great because most people have trouble knowing exactly what they want before they have an example to comment on.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The more you know about the look and feel and features of the software you want developed the easier the process will be. Find several good examples of what you want created. This will make estimates better and cause fewer changes to the original specification, making the project cost less and be delivered in a shorter time.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy the creative aspect of combining data, media and functionality to create the perfect application for my client. I also enjoy working with the client to discover the best solution to their problem or desire.
