John O. Rose
I do computer healing and tutoring, website design and maintenance. I offer expert on-site or remote service; that's guaranteed!
I will come to your home or small business and fix whatever is troubling your computer and you as its user. If you need a new website or maintenance for an existing site, I offer hourly service as well as fixed-price bids.
I am a single individual, offering personal, professional service. I am fair, honest, fast, and efficient. I always strive to do as many things as possible, simultaneously, to save you time and money.
I am a trained communicator, teacher, counselor, and healer as well as a computer expert. I can explain the situation to you in plain English. I will leave you with a better understanding of how to get the most from your computer.
If you're not happy using your computer, for whatever reason, I can help. I can do all of these things for you. I can also teach you to do them yourself. It's your choice!
Services offered are:
- virus/malware removal and prevention
- website design, development, maintenance
- networking (wired/WiFi) installation, troubleshooting
- crash recovery
- new system purchase advice
- new system set up
- data transfer
- hardware and software tuneup and speedup
- quiet noisy computers
- installation and upgrades
-repair and maintenance
I also offer training in Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, FrontPage, Publisher, PowerPoint), OpenOffice applications (Writer, Calc), eBay sales, Dreamweaver/HTML/CSS, and digital imaging: Photoshop, photography.
Remote Service
If you have a working high-speed internet connection, then I can fix many problems remotely, from my office, making for more convenient scheduling and less intrusion into your home. Also, remote service is potentially cheaper.
Because for remote service, I charge a minimum of 1/2 hour, not 1 hour.
Experience
I have over 20 years of experience in the microcomputer industry, including design, development, maintenance, repair and training.
I do not have the "A+ certification", but I could certainly teach the course! My experience and training far exceed this minimal standard.
Availability
I am available for evening and weekend appointments as well as normal business hours. I have the same flat hourly rate, all days and times.
This always includes free follow-up phone support!

When I learned that John was working on computers for others, I called for help with some memory issues (both mine, and my computer). I have known him a dozen years, and there isn't anyone who you can trust more than John.
But when I got the bill, I was surprised. I had to pay over twice what John charges per hour back when I was in business, for his level of service. He 'doesn't need more than that...."
Then I find that I don't need to schlep the mini-tower to his place - he sends me an email and when I put in a code on my computer, he can operate my monitor and do what is needed from his office. No driving, no hooking and unhooking wires. Amazing.
Then I ask him for a reference for developing a website: He does that too. And is wizard at it...patient, too. So that's why his card says "PC doc - Tutor" because he teaches the slow and anxious. He could help you, too! I'm now a fan for life.
You may be able to find cheaper, although they might be high school kids. John's an ex-Intel engineer with decades of knowledge and wisdom (yeah, he saved me some grief that way, too).
Ask yourself: Why shop any further?– Terry
Question and answer
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. A focus on service and empowerment. I specialize in helping people use their systems more easily, effectively and safely, with the right equipment and the right information.
My 25 years professional experience in the computer industry, along with extensive training as a teacher and communicator, make me an effective teacher as well as a computer expert.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Working with people, helping them get the information and understanding they need to use their computers the way THEY want to use them.
I love helping people and teaching. I love it when I see someone light up and say "So that's how you do it!".
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How much will it cost?
As little as possible! I work as fast as I can, doing as many things simultaneously as possible. Beyond that, the time it takes is often based on the speed and condition of the computer I'm working on.
I also have a flat rate of $100 for most problems, if the computer gets dropped off or if I can take it with me.
