Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Always check to insure the guide is licesensed and insured. Check the number of years he or she has been guiding. Check his web site for client feedback and contact some of the former clients if possable. Find an independent referral service like A & B Pro Guides and ask their opinion of this guide.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Know the best time of year to fish for the speices you are wanting to target. The Department of Fish and Wildlife is a valuble source for this information. Check on their Web site and/or call to speak with them. They are always happy to be of service to anglers. They also can provide information on fish passage at local dams and past season sport catch totals for all rivers and ocean ports in the state. A very valuble resourse for anglers.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How long have you been a licesensed guide. How many years have you been fishing. Do you have DPR and First Aid certifcations. Are you insured. Size of boat. How many persons do you take per trip. Do you have a top on your boat for incliment weather. Do you have any referances. Any past customer feedback. Check with the Better Business Asso.
