Paul resided our house a couple of years ago. He did a professional job and stuck to his estimate except for adjusting to repair some unexpected dry rot. His prices were reasonable, and he was very courteous and did a great clean-up. The house looks 100% better and no problems have arisen. Would I use Paul again? I already have!

Paul Cottle Construction does fabulous work. He started with some smaller projects at my home, a couple of window replacements and some vinyl siding repair. Later on when I decided to tackle a remodel he installed all the new windows, tore off the old vinyl siding and replaced it with beautiful hardiplank siding. He was always on time and always giving his best. He works as if it is his own home, no shortcuts or shoddy work comes from him. He is multi-talented and I would highly recommend him.

I supplied the base, shower walls, plumbing fixtures and floor tile. The bath was done in 2 stages due to delays by Kohler in delivering items ordered. Demolition took place along with behind the walls plumbing, installation of the shower base and tile, and venting of new fan outside. The team, Mark and Audrey were prompt, professional, pleasant and excelled at all aspects of the removal and installation. Second phase completed priming and painting, installation of shower walls, completing of floor tile/trim, installation of towel bars etc. Once all was complete it was time to measure and install frameless shower doors. My installation was particularly challenging as the large shower panels couldn't make it up the spiral staircase. Mark and Audrey built a ramp to pull the panels up the the roof, then through the bedroom sliding doors. Every was done with the utmost care. There was one miscommunication about the shower doors that were to be installed. Paul immediately had the issue addressed and the doors were completed to my total satisfaction. I was totally impressed with the professionalism Paul, Mark and Audrey and absolutely love the work that they did. I was so pleased we are going to have them do our vanity/dressing area next. The picture below is before the glass shower doors.

Hired on Thumbtack

I hired him to replace the windows in my house, honestly the worst decision as it took 4 weeks to replace them and there were no unexpected findings. I have less than 15 windows, not even able to complete one window a day. He showed up to help his crew of one person less than a handful of times. Not professional, yelling at each other and cursing, I would never hire this company again!
Paul Cottle Construction's reply
It’s with great regret that I’m responding to this review. I had explained to our customer that I would be having 1 installer on the job and that he would probably average 1 window or door per day. She said that would be fine. The employee I had assigned this job to had been working for me for over 4 years and had always done a good job and showed up on time. Basically there were no problems while he was working for me, besides the occasional tardiness or illness. Before we started this project he informed me that he was going through a very traumatic personal experience, hence the reason I stated to our customer that he would probably average 1 window/door per day. Things did not go so well. There were days my employee did not show up. Neither did he call or text me to let me know he wasn’t going to make it. I felt badly for him and tried to understand what he was going through. I also tried to help him, when I could, so we could complete the project. Needless to say, he tried my patience to the breaking point. Towards the end of the project I told him I would help him finish up and we were to meet at the client’s house at 7:30 am. I rang the client’s doorbell at 7:30 and was met with a very upset client who commenced to start yelling at me, stating we would not be paid until the project was complete. I had never asked to be paid beforehand and was taken aback by my client’s attitude toward me. She had never stated that she was to the point of being that upset. It was not a good way to start a day at 7:30 am. I explained that we would be finishing that day and tried to apologize. Well, my employee did not show up and I had to call him to see where he was. He said he was on his way, but did not show up until almost noon. We completed the project that day at around 7pm. The total days on the job were 19, not 1 month as my client stated. I felt badly for my client, as well, and tried to apologize for the length of time the project took. Overall, everything went well and the windows were installed to my exacting expectations. I had to let my employee go after this incident If you’re considering having windows installed, or any other remodeling work done, I urge you to check my business on other sites, such as Angie’s List, Google, etc. I strive to live by the Golden Rule, and expect my employees to perform their jobs and to follow my example. The overwhelming majority of our reviews attest to this fact. Most Sincerely, Paul Cottle-Owner Paul Cottle Construction
