Introduction: I offer customized Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Ukulele lessons tailored to your needs, e.g., technique, repertoire, and performance. I am an experienced, enthusiastic, patient, and friendly teacher. I work well with people of various ages, temperaments, and abilities so that each of them feels special, valued, and encouraged. I also can teach how to read music, rhythms, ear training, music theory, orchestration/arranging (from small combos to big bands), and the Kodaly method. I am seasoned in teaching and performing, with plenty of routines on stage from the smallest pubs to the largest arenas in multiple styles like jazz, musical, rock, pop, and gospel. My motto shares the thoughts of Joe Diorio - he is one of my favorite guitarists and educator: "Teaching is the highest thing you can do - helping people to help themselves or maybe fulfill their dreams." My home studio is in Multnomah Village SW Portland, on 26th Ave, close to Lake Oswego/Tigard/Tualatin and Beaverton.

Attila is a great motivator and teacher. He makes the lessons fun, and his style is perfect for bringing out the best in his students. I would highly recommend him. He is a super nice, genuine person who is always quick to respond with any help or questions we may have. I can tell he loves what he does, and this translates to a really great dynamic and learning environment for his students.

I owned a guitar for years, but was always afraid to try. I reached out to just learn one song. However, Attila was great helping me understand it was better to start from the basics. I’m so thankful for the journey we started. I would recommend everyone to learn from Attila. He is the best!

I’ve been taking lessons with Attila for around 15 months now. Half of that time was in person and the rest via Skype and both have been just as effective. The best thing I can say about Attila is that he loves music deeply. He has a vast knowledge of technique, music theory, music history, different styles, and is generally excited about the learning process. He not only teaches 1 on 1 but works professionally playing gigs or teaching at colleges/universities. All this shows up in his teaching style to prepare you to hold your own amongst other musicians. Since starting my lessons over a year ago I have really improved my overall playing as well as my sight reading, understanding of theory, timing, and I have more confidence in my playing. Lessons are tailored to what I want to focus on whether in subject matter or musical style and he is quick to make adjustments to help me make faster progress. Even though I have often not spent enough time practicing before my lessons he has been patient in helping me work through any obstacles and is willing to take the time to explain anything I don’t understand. I’m excited to continue my lessons and get even better! If you’re just starting out or looking to take your playing to the next level Attila can definitely help you with your music goals.

I was initially nervous about giving remote video lessons a shot, but Attila's been really great. While video will always be an imperfect substitute for in-person lessons, Attila has been able to creatively work around the constraints of video lessons by assigning little recording projects, so skills above and beyond just my live guitar playing are being exercised. Attila's teaching is rigorous and structured, but he frequently offers creative exercises and always recommends taking what is learned via my scale, arpeggio, and other technical exercises and applying them creatively by improvising with them.

Details: 26 - 44 years old • No formal training; some self-taught experience • Yes, can read music staff • Electric • Jazz • What the teacher recommends • Yes, the student has an instrument • 60 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

Attila brings a wealth of professional experience, musicianship and music theory, as well as his masterful guitar skills. I've really appreciated how he tailors the lessons and content to my specific interests and desires. Additionally, the transition to online lessons has been seamless and I still feel like I'm receiving a quality lesson and instruction.
