Introduction: Jessica is a highly trained, freelance makeup artist who specializes in all-natural, non-toxic, beauty makeup for editorial/print projects, high-definition video, fashion events, and weddings. For the bride: As one of Portland's premier wedding makeup artists, Jessica enhances the faces of dozens of brides every year. Her belief that wedding makeup should make her client's feel like the best possible version of themselves, while bringing out their unique style and natural beauty has made her a top choice for Northwest brides. Going green and makeup: Growing up as a ballet dancer and a vegetarian since age 11, Jessica has always been conscious of the products she puts into her body, and the effects they have on her overall health. A few years into her career as a makeup artist, it dawned on her that "the products going onto one's skin have just as much effect on our bodies as the products we consume". After all, human skin is the largest organ of the body and is capable of absorbing products directly into our bloodstream. Once Jessica came to this realization, she started to make major changes in the products she used on herself and on her clients as a makeup artist. Unwilling to compromise the quality of her kits, Jessica spent years under the guidance and training of Green Beauty Team founder, Kristen Arnett. Jessica has now assembled a hardworking, "green" makeup kit that is safe for herself and her clients, nourishing for the body, and healthier for the environment.
