I have had 3 clients in the past month request Psoas work. So, I am learning the latest techniques in Psoas Major and Psoas Minor release. Sneaky little suckers. I will be an expert by the end of the month and get some CEUs toward my LMT license. – Apr 14, 2010 at 6:01 am
I have been a licensed massage therapist for 8 years. Over the years, I have developed an intuitive sense with bodywork. I have learned to follow the body's specific needs. Often where one hurts is not the source of the problem. I find my way to the root of the issue while providing a comfortable space for healing.
I have a comfortable massage studio located in the Woodstock neighborhood deep in the heart of Portland. I specialize in Deep Tissue massage and I am skilled in Swedish, Trigger Point, Cranial Sacral, and Neuromuscular Therapy. When I combine these tactical skills with my intuitive sense of the human body, my clients often have a quicker recovery time.
In addition, I have a fairly large client base that have been injured in car accidents. These kinds of injuries can be devastating.
I am skilled in post injury massage techniques that are proven to reduce recovery from strain and injury to the body. I have seen many clients become fully functioning again in a fairly short amount of time. Even after 8 years of practice, I have not lost my sense of gratitude for the gift of intuition that helps so many.
I am very open to inquiries about my work, your issues you need addressed and just about anything else. I understand that it can be extremely difficult to find the right therapist for you. Massage should be taken seriously as an integral part of health maintenance.
The first step is interviewing those you like and then the only way to know if it's the right fit is to schedule an appointment.
I often offer new client discounts, multiple massage packages, sliding scale options, and barter. Please contact me directly to discuss any of these or questions you have. I really do hope to hear from you.
My sessions run from 50 minutes to 120 minutes. They vary because I don't necessarily believe that in an hour, you are healed. And in 90 minutes you are even more so, and so on. My philosophy is your body knows what it needs.
Thanks for looking and I look forward to meeting you soon.
Love and Light~

Greetings,
First, let me tell you that Betty is one of the most personable, easy to communicate with and non-judgmental people I've ever met -- especially in the area of health care, wellness and therapies. Second, and this is related, she will put you at ease in a way that from the first few minutes, you know you're going to have deep relaxation, muscular release and soon you'll know it will be a wave or trance that overcomes you! Third, and this is key for me, I'm 50 and while athletic, I've got lots of aches and pains and Betty's intuitive claim is NOT a sales pitch. It's real. I had a massage therapist who had that sixth sense for many years at my health club and Betty is the first I've experienced since then. It's a pleasure when you don't have to keep talking and say "no" or "would you go deeper on my foot" -- she gets it in advance. And when you do make a suggestion or ask for advice, she is right there and in a very artful and effective way. I'm gushing, like this website says we're ok to do. Don't miss Betty. P.S. I rarely write these, because for a bad therapist, I don't like to put people down; for a great one like Betty, the risk is that so many people will schedule I'll be locked out!!! Oh, well, she deserves the praise. Stan
