FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll usually set up an initial meeting to speak to the client in person, meet their pets, and go over any questions either of us has. I have a pet questionnaire, contract, and medical information sheet that I'll go over with the client to cover any small details as well. It's extremely important that my clients leave the meetings comfortable, assured, and worry free.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've always had a passionate interest in learning about animals. As a kid I'd catch bugs, spiders, and snakes and then consult the encyclopedias to learn as much as possible about them. I started my first pet sitting "business" when I was about 8, and always welcomed the chance to be around as many animals as possible. My friends and family still jokingly refer to me as the "beast master". I have years of experience volunteering with , rescuing , fostering, dog walking, and pet sitting, and have personally owned 9 different breeds of dogs along with cats, birds, gerbils, rabbits, rats, snakes, and spiders . I am trained in dog CPR and first aid and knowledgeable in positive reinforcement training.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My life has always revolved around animals in one way or another. Whether it's been finding stray kittens, rescuing hurt squirrels, or caring for my own pets, my life is best when there are animals around. I'd often watch friend's pets, then they'd refer me to their friends. I decided to experiment with turning it into a "Real " business and was pleasantly surprised with how quickly it took off - which was great, cause I absolutely love it.
