- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are many variables in the pricing index! Style, size, yardage requirements, as well as the overall condition of the furniture play a vital role in determining the finished bid. We generally need to see and inspect each piece for detailed accuracy! But in general! a average sofa recover is about $700.00 to $850.00, plus material. The average living room chair is about $400.00 to $ 650.00, plus material.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There are of course many variables to furniture, such as style, size, number of cushions, skirts, condition of the spring system, condition of the cushion and padding material, type of fabric used, etc... We need to see the the furniture in order to determine the cost of re-upholstery, and or custom building. We offer free in-home estimates, or you may send us photos by E-mail with dimensions, we will be glad to put together a package that is right for you. We offer thousands of fabrics to choose from! We can brings sample books to your home, or you may visit our convenient show-room to view the extensive collection that we carry; or you may provide the fabrics yourself.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a third generation upholsterer, growing up in my families furniture upholstery shop. I went through an extensive apprenticeship program working under master-craftsmen, which built my foundation in this business. My wife Luba, and I have operated Lake Grove Upholstery for over 45 years together, building and upholstering thousands of pieces of finely crafted furniture.
