Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I specialize in working for clients who demand great results in a short period of time. I commit to sessions that are exciting and am hired by musicians who appreciate my ear before entrusting me with the responsibility of engineering their records. Please listen to the selected demo recordings from various genres above and go to my website below to read my bio and listen to more samples. There are several pro studios that I work out of in Portland and Seattle. I also operate a private recording and mixing studio (The Track Shack) in the Tacoma area. I supplement every studio session with my own top of the line Apogee Symphony converters, preamplifier rack, and microphone collection; which includes several hand built ribbon microphones. Regardless of the particularities of your session be certain that I am committed to helping you sound amazing. I enjoy the creative processes of collaborating with musicians and enhancing the original idea of a song. I also really like using my understanding of acoustics to capture an instrument as it sounds in a space or to completely change the sound of the room to make that instrument sit right in a mix. More than anything, the friendships I've made through working with musicians in the studio has been the best part of engineering records. Music is social.

Caleb is passionate and professional about his work. He brought a positive and relaxed energy to both sessions I worked with him on. He has an extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of recording but he is also a musician with a great set of ears and this results in a great product!

My name is kyle basher, in the band CSP. Working with caleb was great. Everyone in the band learned so much, and caleb was definately patient and well qualified to record our stuff. It was definately a learning exlerience and we all got a great deal of knowledge from it. The quality of the music when recording is all finished is great, clear, and the sound we wanted is all there.

It doesn't seem like work when collaborating with Caleb. Always professional, always on time. Big bang for your buck. I will definitely be going back! We have worked on various projects for the past five years and I hope that we can continue for many more!

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It's important to listen to projects the engineer has worked on to get an understanding of what your final product will sound like. Also, not all engineers have the capacity to handle large projects with lots of instrumentation. I have worked with both small singer-songwriter projects and large ensemble jazz and classical groups. Moreover, I've networked with composers and musicians who are available to contribute to your production. Whatever the scope of your project; you can be confident that you are in good hands.
