Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Custom Programming: (x)HTML, HTML5, php4-5+, JavaScript (and jQuery), MySQL. Social Network customization integration (such as Facebook, Google+, etc). Organic Search Engine Optimization & Google PPC.
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. 1. Custom loaded shopping cart application with dynamic gold mining maps generation for secure download and query. Paypal payment options with 256bit SSL encrypted connection.
2. WordPress: complete customization with fully Organic SE optimized structure and complete CMS controls for quick and easy back end content management. Flexible mobile standard and mobile layouts for max UX.
3. WordPress: custom hair salon website with fully manageable back end for products, services, makeovers, gallery, contact forms and typical standard pages.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Be as clear as possible in your requirements. Spend some time thinking things through. Provide examples that are similar to what you are looking for (if possible).
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. That all professional website developers are real people too. You may never see us face to face. We might know a lot of technical things, but we have the same day to day business as any other profession. We get our best products and results with well thought out meticulous plans and approaches. And time and cost should always be secondary to quality. So in a nutshell, that's what I would like to know about a developer if I were the customer.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. From personal experience as a web designer, I would say it is not so much important what questions the customer asks, but what questions the web designer asks.
A web designer should ask you questions that seem to "ring" and resonate with what you are trying to do. The questions will feel right and will indicate to your project.
The questions should come in variations and different angles of approach - and usually will surprise you to the affect of "gee, I didn't think of that!".
