Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Call Kenneth Benjamin Reed! But no seriously, take your time and research thoroughly. The Internet is great for reviewing photographer's work. I feel like good reviews and solid recommendations make really big difference on who I am considering to hire.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. A proofing gallery is very helpful, as it allows the client to see the entirety of a shoot and *choose* their favorite takes. Leaving this up to a photographer is fine, but it helps to feel like a part of the process.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Can I see your portfolio? Do you have a studio to shoot in? Do you have business insurance? What size of an image do you give me?
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I guarantee quality, professional service. ...with style!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is that I can actively apply creative solutions to every assignment. Weather, timing, and all sorts of other variables make every job challenging, and I just love that.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. "Hey, I've seen your work, Ben Reed! Aren't you based out of Hawaii?"
Yeah there's a LOT of photographers named Ben Reed in the world, which is why I also include my first name. Kenneth Benjamin Reed, the photographer you need.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I was raised by a wild pack of photographers, my parents. I've enjoyed photography all my life but only in my late twenties did I decide to pursue it as something more than just a fun hobby. It's been a great number of years since then, and I couldn't be happier!
