Introduction: I provide instruction on Zoom for students ages 6-12 yrs. ​Phonics and Reading Is your child struggling with the beginning stages of reading and are you struggling to help them? I use a Phonics program that addresses reading, writing, and spelling so that students can develop the skills to break language down into its most basic parts. Beginning and Advanced Phonics- Individual and group classes - (3 or less students) Group and individual classes include mastery of the 70 phonograms and the 29 Spelling Rules. Reading Intensive - Individual - This class is for children 9 and up and incorporates a serious study of multi-syllable words using The American Spelling Book, by Noah Webster, the first spelling curriculum for schools in the United States. His text was responsible for teaching 100 million students in America how to read, write, spell, and pronounce words for over 100 years. Writing Are you looking for writing support for your student outside of the “standard” within the school curriculum? I utilize a program that provides students with a set of tools that applies across all writing formats and that they can use for a lifetime. Understanding English grammar is the key to learning how our language is structured. To write a great essay, you must first learn how to fashion a sentence by using its parts with skill. I teach the 8 Parts of Speech and break them down into how they are arranged into a sentence; then, we take this knowledge and fold it into their writing curriculum. English Grammar Class- Individual or Group (3 or less students). I recommend Grammar when entering 4th grade. I have home schooled my children using the classical method while tutoring small classes of students for Classical Conversations in English and Writing. Additionally, I have been a teacher with Help Elevate Learning Processing and deeply understand learning processing challenges, executive functioning struggles, and learning styles.
