A. Cutting, Coloring

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Come in for a shampoo and style, get to know your new stylist before you just jump in and ask for something new.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Dont be afraid to ask any questions a consultation is the most important thing between you and the client. There is no wrong question.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. If you have a specific look then by all means bring in some photos. That will help the stylist figure out what you are looking for and explain to you what will work and what wont.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have 7 years of experience with professional business women. I color your hair acording to your head shape not just your basic 6 section weave. My hair cuts aren't just straight cuts I blow dry and style then add texture and volume while the hair is dry. To acheieve the best hair cut that is eaisy to style.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love making someone feel better. Im there to hear out there problems and put in my advice, I also perscribe every customer with the proper styling products to achieve the style in the salon at home.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Do you think this will make my face rounder? I say if that is what you want to do then do it dont let someone tell you that you can't have a look you want. And recomend they color there hair or highlight it cause that is what makes the over all look and can distract from being afraid of having a round face.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Just the other day I had a client that was refered to me and she told me to do what i think i should do which is great. I colored her hair and cut it into the desired shape that works best for her and at the end she loved it and gave me a hug and said thank you so much. Can I get a few of your cards, and I said no problem.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That we have our own problems with our hair and we are always trying out new products because there is always something better out there. Also that we have feelings too and we are just practicing and everyone's hair is different and maybe the hair cut you chose is way different then your hair can acheieve. Please be paitent as am I when doing your hair and or trying to figure out exactly what you want.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. When I was 5 years old and I learned how to french braid my own hair. Then in high school i was always doing people hair and makeup for prom and everyone was telling me im a natural.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. A lady came in with a picture and her hair had grown out quite a bit and I asked her if she would like it cut up and over the ear and she said do what ever you think. So i did and she loved it at the end i asked her if she needed any products and she said she is okay at the moment. Gave her my card and said well after a few days if you decide you love your hair cut then please call me next time you are in need. And it was very nice meeting you have a wonderful day.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, Im always watching new techniques online and looking through that latest fashion magazines. And I watch my co-workers when they have clients and I dont you can always learn ither mistakes or a trick.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Anti Aging Color with 100% grey coverage. Also The new Bosley hair regenerating kits. Perfect for the 55 and up client.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I haven't done the project yet, but i love giving someone a full make over because I am a fully licenced cosmetologist. So my client asked me to find her a new hair cut and color and make up selection for her new position as Vice President in her company. I like to go the extra mile with my clients.

A. Its pretty straight foward unless there is alot of hair and more product will be used then there is an extra charge. But never more then $20.00 And this is with Chemical Services only.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Find the best school that is not far from home and go full time the more you are there the more experience you will get being full time or night time school its not the same. Keep yourself inspired by watching hair styling shows on television. Or online. Job shadow a few salons to make sure this is the career you would like to be a part of and go for it.

A. How important is it to use professional Products on color processed hair?
Very important, Color safe professional products is just a guarantee that your color will last 6 weeks and keep your hair in the best condition for the next color application. Using the wrong products in the hair can cause uneven color tones. Store botten products dont rinse out of the hair they coat the hair shaft and doesn't let the hair breathe and causes damage and diffaculty styling.
