Mark Hanson is a virtuoso guitarist and a very bright man. His teaching style is kind and replete with techniques that enhance the performance of wannabes like me. He can arrange a playable version of any tune you think you would like to perform. In addition, he has the patience to rise to the challenge of teaching 'older' students.

I am very fortunate and blessed that Mark accepted me as an Adult-Starting-From-Scratch student. He has taught me coordination which enables me to get to all chords on time (a miracle). Mark's guitar knowledge is encyclopedic. He can teach you how to play songs in any style or genre you can think of, and he is extremely patient. Mark Hanson really is a rare teacher, who is able to communicate at the student's level of comprehension and illuminate as many facts as they can absorb.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Find a teacher with a compatible personality, and one who is experienced, organized, and enthusiastic about passing along the art of playing the guitar and what is takes to be musical!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Playing a musical instrument at a higher level takes a sustained commitment in time and energy, and will likely take many months to two years to play well. Be persistent, patient, and relaxed!
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. How can you help me in my situation to reach my goals? Explain your musical background and experience, your hopes and dreams, and your willingness to put in the effort to achieve those goals.
