Introduction: Hellyer Performing Arts Center is a performing arts school with a professional staff of teachers for all ages and abilities. Teachers have degrees and background clearances. Several of our students are now professional performers and/or teachers in music and drama. I started training with Wendy Hellyer at the young age of fourteen until I graduated Neshaminy High School at the age of eighteen. I am currently living in New York City and continuing to train in the arts and theatre performance, and will always be grateful for the foundations Wendy has set in me. She provided excellent classical training, as well as constant introduction to new material both of the classical and musical theatre genre. In addition, I was invited to participate in the community choir she directed, which provided me with even more opportunities to perform and practice. On top of all of this, I have kept in contact with Wendy and she has graciously supported me and my efforts in New York, from providing an excellent reference when I was applying to performing arts schools, to attending a performance of an Off-Broadway musical I was fortunate to be a part of, to allowing me to attend a rehearsal of the still continuing community choir on an impromptu of mine home to Bucks County, Pennsylvania! I am so grateful to have had such fine teaching available and a reliable contact and friend in my hometown!

As an adult student in voice and piano I have expanded my abilities and enjoyed so much doing so. We have worked on all kinds of music, classical, jazz, pop and had the opportunity to study and perform various works. It is also a very enjoyable experience to sing with other groups and have fun doing so. Music has been a tremendous outlet of joy for me.

Ms Hellyer has helped me improve tremendously in my voice lessons with her. She works specifically wth technique that has helped me to improve. I would definitely recommend her to any new students looking for a place to start voice.

I have studied with Wendy Hellyer for the past 4 years and would say that this is by far the best person I've trained with. Wendy's abilty to adapt to the students level and preferences make her a very resourceful teacher. She makes the lessons very person centered and takes great effort to ensure understanding of all facets of voice training. Lesson costs are reasonable and in keeping with industry standards.

I studied with Ms. Hellyer for around 4 years as I worked through multiple musical theatre pieces with my High School. She was always professional and courteous, and has become a very good friend. She is incredible at what she does and I would not be where I am if it were not for her teaching.
