Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure the provider listens to you, your reasons for seeking his or her help, and make sure that you feel you are not being rushed through your appointment. There may be many options for your care so do not hesitate to take the time and ask your questions and/or for clarification. You should feel understood and completely comfortable at all times.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. While chiropractic is often a covered service under many health insurances, not all chiropractors participate with insurance companies. In order to remove this potential barrier to seeking treatment, Dr. Hillwig accepts most major insurances (BC/BS, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, etc.). Make sure you discuss coverage and payment options with the office you choose so you understand your financial obligations.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. 1. What sets your care apart from that of other chiropractors / nutritionists?

2. How will you evaluate my improvement or lack of improvement? What outcome measures do you use to assess progress?

3. How long should I expect to be under your care? What steps do you take to help transition patients to more active care?
