Let massage show you what your body can teach you.

I am a massage therapist with a state license in physical therapy assistance from Pennsylvania. I have been practicing and running my own studio for the last 17 years. I have just recently closed my studio to increase my yoga teaching practice in the Pittsburgh north areas.

I continue to staff and operate a massage office inside Carnegie Mellon University, where we have been for 10 years.
Currently, I offer massage services at The Laughing Lizard Yoga Studio in Cranberry Twp, PA and also from a home visit point of view as well.

Prices vary according to venue. My rate is $75 per hr. at the yoga studio, $85 per hr. for home visits within a 15-mile radius with more than one client, and $95 per hr. with only one client. I also offer a 90-minute massage at a comparable price.

My clientele has been loyal for mostly more than 10 years, and I am hoping to increase my customer base.

My services are designed to offer comfort and individual attention. Deep tissue and stretches are my specialty, as well as neck and shoulder release. Low back pain can be relieved, as well as headaches and tension.

Everyone needs to be kneaded!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. For a personal service such as massage I recommend talking to someone to set up an appointment. While hearing a voice explain to you what you might expect from an appointment you can find a level of trust and comfort from the professional on the phone. This makes the face to face meeting more enjoyable and the experience more relaxed.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. My trade requires a level of education that insures the safety and professionalism that should be expected from a personal service provider. As a customer I would ask for those credentials over the phone.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask about length of experience and what might make the provider special in their field. Ask again for any recognizable references; i.e. length of time in a community and education.
