    I wish I had words to describe how happy I am with my engagement photos! Laura is very attentive to her clients, with quick responses to any question and a very fast turn around on the photos!
    She is very creative and artistic, and seems to understand perfectly what her clients want. I am thrilled with my photos and my experience with Laura. I can't wait to have her take my wedding photos!!!

    La Rue Photography is wonderful! We have hired Laura twice recently, maternity and newborn shoots. We had great experiences both times. Laura has creative ideas and brought some great props and backgrounds that I loved! She was patient and easy going with our children still getting some great pictures! I absolutely love the shots and couldn't ask for anything better!

    We hired La Rue Photography to photograph our precious new born son. I saw a friends new born photo's on facebook, fell in love with the creativity, and contacted Laura right away to see if she could fit us into her schedule. Laura was amazing to work with, everything I cold imagine a photographer to be. She was taking pictures of our new born son, 8 days old, and our 2yr old daughter (who is not a fan of sitting still). Laura did a great job capturing my ideas, as well as giving me her input and creativity to get those special moments I will never forget! Hands down, I'll be using Laura again to work with my family. She was patient, relaxed, and knew how to help 'organize' my 2yr old to get those pictures I had wanted. Did I mention she brings her studio and all the fun props to you? What more could you ask for!

    I absolutely LOVED how she took my boyfriend and I's personality and turned it into many beautiful pictures. Her ideas are phenomenal and she is SO nice to work with. She knew exactly what we wanted and the outcome was perfect!

    My husband and I hired Laura for our wedding. She is so passionate about her work… her artistic vision resulted in beautiful and unique shots!     LaRue Photography is awesome!! We had Laura come out to take our Engagement Photos at Jarod's property (a beautiful country setting). She was on time, very professional, but also very personable! We felt so comfortable with Laura and we had a blast :) Needless to say, out photos turned out wonderfully! Our pictures were touched-up and delivered to us quickly! Over all we were very impressed with LaRue Photography and we will certainly be using Laura at our wedding in October!!

    I used La-rue photography for beauty shots and I could not have been more pleased with the results. I gave Laura an idea of the kind of photos I wanted and the ideas just kept coming. She takes her business very seriously but is personable and made me feel very relaxed the entire time. And she does all this at a very reasonable price.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. With photography its easy, look at the photographers work, and decide if it is the style you are looking for for your special occasion.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I am a perfectionist! Meaning, I absolutely make sure when I go on a job, I am completely prepared, and backed up with my equipment. I make sure I know EXACTLY what it is you, the client, want from the shoot and give that to you. I also like to surprise my clients with unexpected shots and very unique images.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I get instant gratification out of my photography on a personal level. Whether I am shooting for personal reasons or for a client I utterly adore my camera and the art of photography. Most importantly, I get to give clients portraits preserved in time forever that they will look back on and remember a special time in their (or their children) lives.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. My most common question is how much do I charge. Right now, being in the middle point of experience/knowledge I charge that way. $150/session for portrait shoots, and $100-150/hr for weddings.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It is not as easy as pointing a camera and shooting. First, you have to be a visual person. Setting up composition and lighting are CRUCIAL! Then you have to truly understand your equipment and know how to use it effortlessly.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was constantly taking pictures of my family and kids, and I could not go out to a party/event without taking my camera, so people started asking if I could take pictures for their child's birthday party and I did. Then I got into studio work and slowly built up the equipment for a studio and have not stopped since!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I recently did a beauty shoot for a client that wanted a personalized gift for her boyfriend for Valentines day. Not only was she beautiful, but the portraits turned out so original and artistic I surprised myself. Valentine's Day I will get to publish them to my website for all to see :)

A. It depends. Depending on what you are looking to have photographed, anywhere from $75-$150/hour. Almost all my packages come with prints too!
