Reviews

I am very pleased with Brett's professionalism . He worked my ideas into a great design and detailed drawings. Brett visited my home as many times as needed, as well as contacted my township to be sure that the design conformed to local regulations. I was supplied with everything required to gather several informed bids and procure permits. He did all this for a most reasonable price. Brett is highly recommended by me.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Hire an architect prior to obtaining pricing from a builder or general contractor. Ensure that drawings are complete and have bids that are comparable.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Meet several architects and work with one that matches your personality, design ideas, and price point. Ask questions about design, allow the architect to make the project coherent and relate to the wish list required for the project.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Is pricing open ended or are there billing cycles that include different levels of service? Is the designer an architect or a draftsperson? Have they worked with townships and contractors in the area?
