Introduction: In two words, happy clients. It means everything to me to have my client happy with not only the images I give them but also the photo session. I like to make my clients relaxed and comfortable during the session. I always give 100% to my clients; I can't do it any other way. I think the photographer, Aaron Siskind, said it best..."Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever...it remembers the little things, long after you have forgotten everything." It is very rewarding for me to creatively capture someone's special memories in an image for them to re-visit for years to come.

Joan was a pleasure to work with. I needed portraits of myself taken for professional and social media purposes. She made sure I got the shots I needed and then some. Joan is a wonderful teacher. You can tell she has a passion for photogrophy and that shows in her teaching. She takes the time to explain your own camer and then takes you out into the field to practice getting shots. I would recommend her to every new photographer like myself. She helped me grasp the concept and I'm able to take good shots after just two lessons!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to speak to the potential client about pricing since there are many options.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a conversation with my clients about what it is they want from their photo session. And, I will give them my ideas as well. This is a perfect time to get the creative juices flowing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied with the New York Institute of Photography. I also take classes online through CreativeLive. And I do a lot of reading of professional photographers articles and books.
