A. Most people are going the hardwood flooring way these days. Mostly the first floor with areas like; kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, foyers, closets and powder rooms. The second floor; master bed and bath rooms, hallways and the stair cases. We are also installing sub-floors in basements, so that the customer can enjoy real hardwood instead of laminate or other flooring.
A. Ask as many questions as you can. Make a list of the things you need to ask before we arrive for your estimate. Check to see if they photo's to bring. See if they can bring some samples and different colors or kinds of wood. See if they have the knowledge to fix sub-floors if they run into that problem. Make sure they know how to remove and replace toilets if your getting wood in a bathroom. Make sure they know how to fix broken ice maker lines if they will be working in a kitchen. Many things can happen or come up on the job site. If you have the knowledge and the tools to fix them while your there, then makes sure there are no delays for the customer.
A. There are no dustless systems out there, just less dust than others. We make sure to cover cabinets and counter tops with plastic. The same goes for doors to other rooms or stairs cases. The more stuff that gets moved or covered the easier the clean up.
A. You should know the rooms you are looking to have done. You should also know if things are good with the pricing, are there other areas I might want to take a look at. If you already ready have base boards and you installing wood, your going to lose some of the height of the base. Do you want to remove it and put in back after? Do you just want new base? Are you ready to do some painting? With most flooring jobs you will have some touch up painting afterwards. These should be questions your flooring person shoukd be askinf during the estimate. Don't be stuck with things after the job has started or finished.
A. Because I love what I do and I have been doing it for 16 years. And the one big plus, we are owners who perform all the work everytime.
A. I dont think of it as a job!!!
A. Whats the best color of wood to go with? Always natural!!!!!!!
A. The one thing that sets me off from other flooring companies, I provide a cleaning service. After the job is complete and everything is to the customers liking, at a very small price, I have a cleaning service come in. They clean everything top to bottom in the rooms that were worked in or around. We make sure all areas, in and beside, that we walked through or worked in are completely free of dust.
