Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When choosing a wedding photographer, make sure you get to see photos from an entire wedding before you book the photographer. If the photographer offers albums, find out what the albums look like, both outside and in. Decide what it is you want most from your wedding photos. Do you want a lot of really amazing portraits? Is it important to you to have pictures of all of your guests? Do you want black and white pictures or all color or both? Do you want candid images that show what your wedding was like through the eyes of a vip guest? Do you want dramatic wide-angle landscapes with you and your groom in an exotic location? Once you know the answers to these questions, make sure you choose a wedding photographer whose style matches the style you want in your photos. Discuss with your photographer what is most important to you in your wedding pictures.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Nancy Jones Photography specializes in fresh, modern, clean photography. I love composing simple and beautiful images with lots of color. My post-processing (photo-editing) style is very minimal so your photos reflect your wedding day the way it REALLY was, and I don't date your wedding photos with lots of heavy editing or color-manipulation. I want your photos to be as classic and beautiful in 20 years as they are the day of your wedding.

I make the picture-taking process fun! I want you and your wedding party to have a good time getting all the great photos you want for your album. My brides get magazine-quality images of all the details of their wedding, their friends and family, and pictures of the day from start to finish.

Do you have liability insurance?

Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
I am the wedding photographer who will take your wedding pictures. I do not hire out other photographers under my name.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I never book myself for more than one wedding or event in a weekend. Your wedding is a special day that deserves my full energy and attention.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
My husband is my business partner and an excellent photographer who will shoot your wedding if I will personally not be available.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I bring two camera bodies, a 70-200mm lens, a wide angle lens, and a portrait lens. Additional supplies: lots of batteries, plenty of memory cards, a reflector, and a tripod.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
With two cameras and lenses that will do double-duty, you're always covered in case of emergencies.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
I have a variety of packages ranging from 6-8 hours of wedding coverage.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Additional coverage is available at $150 per hour.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I take my breaks when there is a natural break in the action and for meals. The client will provide the meals.

Do you charge for travel?
Travel fees may apply. These fees cover the travel costs (air-fare, gasoline, and meals).

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
I will provide a sneak preview on my blog of several of my favorites within a week of the wedding. The entire collection of proofs will be ready for viewing up to 2 months after the wedding.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes. Since you get all the digital files, though, I will provide a print release allowing you to print and reproduce the images for personal use only.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
All of my wedding packages include a dvd of hi-res digital negatives of the entire wedding.

What kind of albums do you offer?
I custom design each wedding album with the images selected by the clients. These are flush-mounted and hand-bound in Italy with the finest papers and covers. You can choose metallic paper, photographic paper, or smooth paper for the pages, and the covers are your choice of either silk, metal, or leather.

When will the client get the final album?
Albums typically arrive 2-3 months after the wedding. I work closely with each couple to determine the best way to tell the story of their day. Custom albums are a wonderful treasure.
