Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. My techniques and tools came from the discipline of artist who call themselves,"Daily Painters". Producing one new painting every day has become a phenomenon embraced by dozens of artists worldwide. While very few of these artists produce a new painting every single day (I take weekends off, for instance), disciplined regularity is clearly the goal and essence of this practice.
The techniques embraced here allow a mother to paint while the child sleeps. If you have a day job, just an hour at night after a busy day can produce a painting to collect or sell. Because of these techniques we can all become better artist even if life gets in the way.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Learn about techniques and tools to start and complete a painting in one day. How to paint a fast straight line using the, "Artist Edge". Keep your proportions accurate with the proportional divider. Lean about the many uses of the paint eraser. Using simple grids to place objects and block in color. Moving and manipulating oil paint. How to use an appliqué stroke for a painterly style. Why we skip drawing and underpainting. The technique of "taking back" for control and detail and many known but hard to find tools and techniques not shared in academia .
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. If you have ever taken an art class where the art instructor does not give individual attention to each student, run away. Your paying for a practice session.
I have taken workshops and college coursed where the art instructor is absent most of the time.
If an art instructor is not sharing the full knowledge of painting, your being cheated. Some artist treat their knowledge like magicians. They do not give away the big secrets, I'm not sure why, maybe they are afraid the student will surpass the teacher. In my class, I am transparent, patient and willing to reveal all the knowledge I have to offer to make my student shine. During the class I often boast about my many successful student who are now making a living as an artist.
I also cover how to sell your work before you visit a gallery by marketing and selling art online.
