I offer lessons for the beautiful and profound student! I have been teaching private lessons for over 20 years. I teach all styles of guitar, banjo, and other acoustic instruments. I also teach voice, songwriting, etc.
I provide a relaxed no-fear or judgment environment where we can all enjoy the love of music. Private lessons are about you becoming a better musician and fall in love with music not about the teacher showing off how good they are. I think we've all been in that situation before.
I am also a performing and recording artist and bring all of my experience to the lesson room.
Ask me about Skype video lessons too!

As an older student who has been playing for thirty-plus years with very little professional instruction, I had concerns about not being able to find a guitar teacher who would be able to break me of my worn-in bad habits. It has been very easy communicating my interests and concerns with Kevin, and his wealth of knowledge of music is very apparent. His approach to teaching is very casual but still maintains direction. My instruction so far has included in-depth scale exercises across the fretboard, music theory & chord construction, popular and classic chord progressions in several genres, exercises in well-known guitar method texts, and just learning how to play a favorite old song. I am always looking forward to my weekly lesson, as does my ten-year-old daughter who has just begun her lessons with Kevin.

A. Make sure the teacher that you choose is a likeable person and that you get along with them. A good teacher is not your friend but someone who can see into you and know what you need to be better.
A. I wish I knew if the teacher was also a student. Do they have music that they work on. Some teachers get to a certain point in their learning and stop. They teach what they know and never pass on new information on to students.
A. How long have you been teaching? How long will it take me to reach my goal? How much should I practice? How should I practice?
