Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. When is a photobooth NOT a great idea? Weddings are the types of events that we do the most, but we are definitely not limited to weddings! We have been featured at 100th birthday parties, graduations, proms, Sweet 16s, Fundraisers and Block Parties. Add an extra dimension of fun to your event with Flash Shack Photobooth!
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. Flash Shack Photobooth is at home at any event! Recently we had the pleasure of being a part of a 100th birthday celebration, where the guests ranged in age from newly born to 100. It was a party I will never forget. Several proms were on our calendar this year. It was so much fun watching the kids in their formal attire make memories with their friends in our booth! We also have been privileged to have been able to give back to our community through various fund raisers. Of course, we always love to share in the joy of weddings! Call us to see how we can enhance YOUR event!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. First and foremost, I would say make sure that the person you hire is well versed in the service. There are many providers who are offering a photobooth as an add-on to their main service. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, the photobooth is not their main focus. At Flash Shack, we are constantly improving our photobooth, whether it is updating our software, staying abreast of current wedding trends or adding new technology such as instant social upload. We welcome feedback to help us improve. Finally, I would recommend that you find a provider who is a good fit for you personality wise.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I would love for the client to know the amount of time that actually goes in to making their event perfect. The three hours that the photobooth is up and running is the only part that they see. Of course, the client knows about the set up of the booth prior to the event and the breakdown after the event. However, they aren't aware of the amount of time that goes in to education, keeping on top of the latest technologies, designing the perfect footer, marketing, client communications, advertising, planning for expos, training, bookkeeping and meeting with potential customers. It is definitely a full time job, with much more involved than the 5 hours at the event!
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. In any service, the consumer should make sure their professional is current in their technologies. Be sure that they can explain what they do. If they do not have an answer to a question, they should be able to find out and get back to you.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Of course, I have THE BEST BOOTH in the area! No kidding. It isn't a step and repeat, or a pop up tent. I have a custom made booth, with a personally designed and sewn cover. I have yet to see one like mine. Not to mention you get ME! I make it a point to visit with you and find out exactly what YOU want for your event. It is my job to make certain that the photobooth runs flawlessly, that the footer is designed to your expectations and that my props are shining and clean!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. That's easy--LAUGHTER!! There is nothing like watching a group of people enter the photo booth with a serious look on their faces, then hear their giggles and guffaws as their pictures are being taken! I love to see their reactions as their pics are printed and they share their silliness with other people!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. One of the most asked is "XYZ Photobooth only charges $300 for 4 hours. Can you beat that?" The short answer is no, I can't. Flash Shack is not a fly by night company. We have overhead, including supplies, trainings, insurance, employees...The cost of the consumables alone for a 4 hour event is nearly $100. If you are looking for a cheaper booth, you may be able to find one. If you are looking for the highest quality booth at a FAIR PRICE, then Flash Shack is for you.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. How PASSIONATE I am! I love what I do! I am a prop fanatic! The contrast between this work and my prior position as a Crisis Intervention Counselor is without measure.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I needed laughter and fun in my life. I certainly have it in abundance with Flash Shack!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Absolutely! I attend Wedding Pro seminars on marketing and trends. I contstantly try out new technology, most recently instant social upload programs. I purchased two of these programs, and I think the add to the business immeasurbly.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Don't think it will be easy money. There is a ton of competition out there. The only way to make a good living is to be your best.
Q. What is your greatest strength?
A. I LOVE my job!
