You got to love when Tenants play the victim then go onto a website to anonymously post a critical and inaccurate review. Let’s start from the beginning. It was the tenant in this particular case that even though he was told from the very outset about the $900 Pet Deposit, waited until the day of the lease signing to let us know that he was only willing to pay $200. No surprise the owners decided to go another direction. Now as for the fact that his check was cashed, there is very little point in accepting a deposit check unless you actually cash it and verify the funds are there. While it is unfortunate that the check happened to clear his bank after the tenant was notified that we were going a different direction, the check was submitted to our accounting department prior to the tenant deciding to renegotiate the lease terms and the deal falling apart. The tenant claims to have had to chase us down, the deal fell apart on Monday May 1st and a check was issued 5/4/12 after confirmation of the tenant’s check clearing which it did on 5/3/12. The tenant sent 1 email which was responded to in a timely fashion telling him that a check was being mailed out-not much of a chase.
