Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Your provider needs to understand your business needs thoroughly. They need to ask questions about your operations, your business processes, your goals, and your ideas. They should be able to fill out a clear business plan template with the information.
From this information they can help you make inform decisions about your visual identity, down to which colors best represent you ideas, and which will be lost in a sea of other similar businesses.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Shapes, colors, type, and images have very strong meanings to people.
Graphic design, and marketing seeks to catalogue this information to be able to address specific audiences with the correct combination of images and words.
It is definitely not a question of "making it pretty" or "making it pop".
Avoid providers who claim either of those things, as they will miss fulfilling your aims.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. • Do you understand what my business is, and can you describe it to me?
• Can you show me my competitors or similar businesses and their marketing/identities?
• Can you create a set of persona's for my audience/core customer?
• Can you build me user flows and content wireframes(outline sketch) of our project?
• Can you give me hourly, weekly, per project, per media and retainer prices.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. • Specific, finite project goals
• General best scenario larger goals (side effects/halo effects)
• Clear Content plan
• Clear Budget plan (before looking for someone make an estimate for total marketing budget, and create a list of targets you would like to hit)
