Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Seeing the sparkle in client’s eyes and their confidence restored after we’ve helped them achieve their goals brings us pure joy.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. One of our most recent jobs -- A Personal Shopping Experience with Our Style Consultant, entailed helping a male client to build an impressive wardrobe of clothing combinations that complimented his frame and lifestyle. To the client's amazement, Evoluer's own fashion/image pro completed the task in a snap! The client was one happy camper.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. In addition to our director having a strong academic education at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, and mentorships under the auspices of industry leaders, Evoluer’s team of image, style and beauty professionals are required to take master classes, attend trade shows and New York Fashion Week.
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. An exciting development that we see coming to fruition is an acceptance of the average American woman who wears a size 14, and the estimated 56 percent of American women wear plus sizes, which start at size 14 or 16, depending on the brand.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. Evoluer was recently called upon to facilitate a 3-hour Dress for Success Workshop for a group of executive leaders. We enjoyed showing the group how they can do more than they think they can to blaze a more contemporary head-to-toe corporate look for their specific lifestyle, figure and taste. Within a week our office was flooded with thank you cards from the seminar attendees, telling us how they are applying the instruction we provided to build a fresh image – one that they’ll love and enjoy presenting in their professional fields. These sessions are tailor-made to address the specific needs and desires of the organization.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Our director tells today’s industry hopefuls to acquire some sort of academic education and or/ experience in the fashion-based sciences or in the beauty, art or design industries to broaden their skill set. And seek out internship opportunities to learn from those who are doing what they want to do.
