At Revive Design, we specialize in creating incredible interior spaces with a reduced impact on the environment. If we can reduce the amount of excess in our home, reuse beautiful pieces of history in a new way, then we can revive and transform an amazing space.
I take pride in creating relaxed inviting spaces that clients feel right at home in. Whether you need help selecting paint colors, laying out your furniture, or completely redoing a space, we have the education, experience, and the natural talent to take your space to the next level.
Are you looking to put some life into your business as well? Then don't forget about our visual merchandising services as well. The way you merchandise a retail space is incredibly important to maximizing your sales and encouraging your customers to buy. Training from some of the best in the merchandising field has taught me the fundamentals and the tricks of the trade that you won't find in any book.
What it really comes down to is the pride I take in all the work that I do. My goal is not only to create a beautiful space, but also for you to love the space! What's the sense in hiring a designer if they only design for themselves. That's not what I'm about, and I'm proud of it.
A. I think its important that the person you hire wants to know all they can about you. If they're working on your home, a designer should make a great connection with you and understand YOUR needs. Nothing is worse than allowing someone into your home who is only designing for themselves.
A. I look towards the future of design, not only what is innovative and new to the market, but how we will be designing in the future. If we want our children and generations after to experience the beauty of the world the way we have, we need to think about all the decisions we make that impact the environment. I think about everything that goes into a space, and whether its a good or bad decision, not only aesthetically but environmentally. Can I find a vintage or antique piece instead of something new? Can I look to a local artist for a piece of home decor rather than purchase something made overseas? Will the pieces I use stand the test of time, or need to be replaced sooner down the road?
A. I love teaching people that they don't have to be afraid of design, and especially how they can continue to do things that better the environment. Its a tremendous feeling when you think how much good you've done, and if it can be passed on to the next person, all the better!
A. Is this going to cost me a lot? My answer tends to be no, and here's why. Part of the beauty of designing in an environmentally conscious way is the use and reuse of existing pieces of furniture and home decor, generating big savings! No not every piece is going to be "cheap" but your looking at a big savings without compromising design. A wise college teacher of mine, who I tremendously respect as a designer told me that good design should appear to be a lifelong collection, not a furniture showroom.
A. I've always had a creative passion. My mother is an artist and has been sewing quilts and making primitive Christmas ornaments since I was little, while my dad works in high end construction and is a real craftsman. The passion they both had for their work directly translated to me, and when I was young I learned how to do everything creative that I could. In high school, I had a passion for painting and architecture, and until my senior year thought I would be an architect. Soon I realized it wasn't the structure of the building that interested me, but how it functions and is laid out which brought me to study interior design in college. I should have known that would be my direction, with all my best paintings being interiors of homes with a focus on color and textiles!
