Ken has returned from over 6 years in Europe. He lived, taught as a vocal instructor and sang in London and Italy. He studied classical voice with great teachers from The Royal College of Music in London, The Curtis Institute of Music, The Manhattan School of Music and with coaches from La Scala in Milan, La Fenice in Venice and The National Opera Studio.

The vocal timber of operatic tenor K. E. Querns-Langley closely resembles that of the great Swedish tenor Jussi Bjoerling. Ken has a full round Heroic voice with brilliant solid high-notes to a sustainable top `F` (F5) and a top `F#` for Coloratura!

His teacher once lovingly exclaimed that the squillo in his voice "could peel the paint off the walls". Ken's repertoire is primarily 19th Century Bel Canto & Romantic Repertoire, and he sings comfortably in: Italian, French, German, Spanish, English and Neapolitan.

Voice Lessons: I help students free the natural voice through use of Bel Canto technique handed down through my teachers directly from both the Garcia/Marchesi and Lamperti traditions. I help the student to understand how their physical and emotional states affect the singing voice, and rectify any negative impact.

As a voice teacher, I explain the use of legato, sostenuto (support)/appoggio and placement 'in maschera' through demonstration and technical/physiological/anatomical explanations. This allows the student to produce a free and clear tone, placed correctly in maschera for proper tone projection and teaches correct breath usage/control, without forcing or 'pushing'.

The Center City Philadelphia studio serves the Philadelphia Metro area into South Jersey, including Atlantic City, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, et. al.

Students in this studio will have the choice to study with the principle voice teacher, K. E. Querns Langley or with an apprentice teacher at a reduced cost. Either way, the students' progress will be monitored and influenced by K. E. Querns-Langley, however in New York City and London all students are taught by the principal teacher at either Steinway Hall or The Music Studios in Marylebone.

$50 Referral Program:

If you are interested in making some extra money with the studio, all you need to do is refer students! There is no limit and the Referral Program is open to anyone, anywhere. As the Bel Canto Vocal Studio has several locations, and teaches via Skype, you can refer students from pretty much anywhere in the world!

A. With nearly 20 years experience in vocal performance, and having taught internationally, I have been able to give students the tools to go on Broadway, London's West End, to prestigious international voice programs and conservatories. Several of my students have released albums and toured internationally. My professional development has been guided by some of the finest musicians, who currently influence singers at Covent Garden, The Met, La Fenice & La Scala to name a few.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What I like most about my job is being able to work with such wonderful performers, students and professionals, around the world. Each one brings a new perspective and helps me to develop as a performer and a teacher.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I continually keep up my voice by studying vocally with international teachers and coaches. I also continue to perform so that I don't lose touch with my own voice and professional goals.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. There are many pricing options when studying with me, because I offer lessons in multiple cities and via Skype. I also offer discounts for paying in advance.
