Introduction: We make everything- event the rolls, so the food is always fresh and great! We are totally dedicated to the Culinary Arts. Opening Night has been in business for 24 years, and we have always had the same Chef, Harry Ross, and Catering Manager., Jean Ross. Together, they make sure your event is exactly what you expected it to be. I love meeting and getting to know the clients, especially the wedding clients. They become like family to us, and after talking to them many times over the months, I actually miss them. I have become friends with many of my clients after their events.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    My husband, Harry, and I both always loved to cook. After graduating from University of Texas in 1979, I moved to NYC, where I meet my husband Harry, at The famed Waldorf Astoria. We have been cooking and working together ever since!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    I would advise any Wedding client to have a "tasting" of their menu. This really showcases the talents of the chefs. I would also advise any client to get a complete cost proposal. Many venues do not include everything- tables, chairs, linens, flatware and china. There are many vendors of these items and a great catering company can match the perfect one for each event based on menu and budget.
