Take the road to lasting memories. At One Way Street Production our aim is to do photography, the right way. Forget the mall photography studio where you have to wait in line before your pictures taken, and come away with only one or two photos you really like.

At One Way Street Production we specialize in journalistic-style and location photography. That means we capture your family and loved ones as you truly are, not with everyone cheesing straight at the camera. We want everyone captured in their most natural selves.

We do all of our photos on-location. That means we either come to your house, or we can go someplace fun and special together. Give us a look! You'll be amazed by what we can offer you.

We love One Way Street Production! Michel & Heather are awesome, laid back photographers who have a unique style and capture perfect candid moments. We love how natural their photos are which they achieve by staying away from the "posed" looks. You won't be disappointed by booking them!

I have used this company for three photo shoots now and they will be the ONLY company that I will use going forward for ALL my family pictures and my children's yearly pictures. I was looking for someone who could capture the ESSENCE of my children in a picture, the joy that I see everyday. Somehow they were able to do that and I love to look at the pictures on my walls everyday. And they really put us at ease and let US decide where and what we wanted in the pictures. Great company, great pictures. If you want to have MEMORIES taken and not just pictures - this is who you want to go with.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Always make sure you take time to look at a photographer's work on their website. I personally trust photographers more if they have a blog and are constantly updating their photos. It always provides a much truer sense of a photographer's talent if they're willing to show you their newest work on a weekly basis!

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. We will admit: our photography style is not right for every family. We have created a niche that is especially valued by people who are looking for something more fun, creative and even edgy than your typical studio photographer. We'd like our clients to take a good look at our style and photography on our website before deciding to book us. Look through our multiple galleries and portfolios first and we'll be very happy to schedule something with you.

Also, we do most of our photography outside, even in the winter months when it's cold out. If you're not able to brave the cold, then it's better to hire us during the warmer months.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have been a photojournalist for several years now with the U.S. Army & have worked for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. My goal is to capture all the moments as they happen, while combining a touch of modern and traditional style in my posed portraits. Many photographers tend to stick to a formula that they've established, but we try something new and creative on every photo shoot we do!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love the fact that we can make families happy through our work and that they can look at our picture and truly see themselves as they are rather than how a mall photographer poses them to be.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How come you don’t sell prints to your photographs?

It is much more affordable for families to order their own prints than to pay a photographer to do so. Our goal is to save you money, not take your money. If you’d like, we can recommend affordable ways of printing your pictures.

What are your hidden costs?

We have none. We are totally up front with you in what we charge. The only additional cost is travel if your venue is outside of 30 miles from the City of Pittsburgh. Oh, and we ask to be fed during the reception. Food is a high priority for me

What are your travel charges?

My wife and I will travel anywhere. We don’t charge any travel fees for locations within 30 miles of the City of Pittsburgh. If the photo shoot location is mor ethan 30 miles away, we charge $1.00 per mile. If the venue is more than 300 miles from Pittsburgh, we ask that you pay for airfare and lodging ahead of time.

What makes you different from other local photographers? Why should someone hire you?

I have been a photojournalist for several years now with the U.S. Army & have worked for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. My goal is to capture all the moments as they happen, while combining a touch of modern and traditional style in my posed portraits. Many photographers will force their style of photography on you, but we taylor to your desires and ensure that the true you comes out in our photography.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. All customers should know that we are not your traditional "pose here, smile like this" photography team. We go for a much more natural and candid style to bring out the truest you!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I never went to school for photography. I learned photography with a Nikon camera in my hands, with a desire to learn everything I could. My experience comes from more than six years in the Army Public Affairs as a photojournalist and with shooting photography for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. In 2008, I deployed to Iraq and came back with more than 10,000 photos I took with professional Nikon equipment.

After I returned to Iraq and completed a 6-month internship with the Post-Gazette, I knew that photography was something I loved doing.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I'm always studying work of other photographers and staying on top of the latest professional camera gear. I love reading blogs and websites about photography, lighting equipment and trying out new styles!

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. We try our best to provide the most simple, up-front and uncomplicated pricing as possible!

Our only "hidden" fee is mileage cost if the photo shoot takes place more than 30 miles outside of the city of Pittsburgh.
