Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Follow your instincts. Not every psychic is a good match for everyone. Some people like a little drama, others like a no-nonsense approach. If you feel like something is wrong, honor that. There are lots of psychics, so feel free to choose someone who you feel comfortable talking with, and who you trust right off the bat. Readings are about helping you make good decisions, not make predictions, so "accurate" really doesn't matter. How you feel is what really matters.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Buyer beware. I started doing readings, since I got so many fake-ish ones when I was younger. Predictions are impossible. Ethical psychics give a realistic framework for the information they give. Beware of "100% accuracy" or promises to fix your problems for you, or readings that require you believe certain things, or come back for a number of readings, or get readings "regularly".

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Looking for a psychic is a little like finding the right minister for you. It is all about spirit and emotion, so ask about values and beliefs that are important to you. It also pays to ask about the common sense "buyer beware" things too. Ask about payment methods, privacy policies and anything else you happen to think of. All the good psychic's I know operate with an emphasis on ETHICS, honesty, privacy. We are open and up-front. Any question is a good one, and will give you a sense of the psychic's personality and honesty to give you a sense of whether you will work well together or not.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Probably the most important thing to understand before you book a reading is the psychic's philosophy about predictions. Some psychics focus on that, and even advertise their "accuracy". If you want to focus on a prediction, it is important to find a psychic that works that way. I don't. I believe what we choose, avoid and DO shapes the future...and that predictions are impossible for that reason.

Another important detail is how they approach your questions about other people. This is especially important in romance/relationship questions. I think it is unethical to look at someone's feeling and concerns behind their back and without their permission. If they give permission on a soul or etheric level, some vague "sense" may come through in a reading. In the end, the best way to know how another person feels or what they will do is to talk to them directly.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Every reader has a different style. My style is calm, down-to-earth, and no drama.

Some people get very frustrated when I refuse to make a wrote prediction or to read their ex-boyfriends feelings about them.

But on the other hand, that is exactly what sets me apart. I give respect to you, and your choices first and foremost. I want to empower YOUR spiritual journey, help you make good decisions and help YOU solve problems more creatively.

It doesn't do you any favors to plant a seed of an idea or make a prediction that may or may not come true. That isn't my job. My job is to help you to find the path to the best future YOU can create.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Getting to talk with people in a low stress environment. Readings are for fun and to reduce stress. Plus I love the spirituality of it all, and seeing the light in people's eyes when have a new insight, or the look of relief when they see a new way forward.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Traditionally, love advice is the most common question, but I also get a lot of career questions. The absolute BEST readings are when we don't ask a question at all, but let the reading go its own way, and allow the most important message to just come through. Rarely, I get medical or pregnancy questions but I do not deal with those at all.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. The stories from psychic work are all about emotions, and private little tidbits that make the reading "real" and profound for the person getting them. The best thing is seeing the look of surprise when someone who doesn't believe in this at all gets some small, verifying detail that brings a literally jaw dropping insight. The look on some faces are priceless!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. There are as many ways to do psychic readings as there are psychics. We are all different individuals, with a whole rainbow of beliefs and practices. Yes, there are some who are not honest with their clients or with themselves. You do have to be careful and use some common sense as well as your own feelings when it comes to finding a psychic.

That being said, there are two key points I'd like to make:

1. I don't make predictions. I believe actions and intentions are far more powerful things. My readings are all about helping you make good decisions, solve problems creatively, ease difficult emotions and have a little fun.

2. Please don't begrudge psychics their fees. We spent time and effort learning to work with our intuition to the point that we can help others, not just ourselves. Yes, find prices that are fair to you...but be fair to us too. Don't ask for free readings unless one is offered. Pay your bill on time...just like you would pay a therapist or hairdresser. We offer peace of mind and just ask for common business courtesy in return.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. It wasn't one clear-cut decision. It was more like following a path, or toppling dominoes. I started out in mainstream medicine. Back in those days, if someone told me I'd be doing psychic tarot readings, I'd would have laughed in their face. But in time, after working with people in real pain, and real emotional need, I finally learned there is more to healing than science and medication. Stress can really cause disease. Emotional and spiritual health and happiness is as important to life as physical wellness.

I started using Tarot to help me to navigate my own path, and want to help people this way just like I used to help them in the hospital. By easing stress and helping them find better choices, I believe I can have a positive impact on health and quality life for others. That makes me happy too.

Q. What are your most common types of jobs?

A. One of the most enjoyable things about doing Tarot readings is the endless variety. I do a mix of individual readings by e-mail (my favorite and my specialty...I'm really good at those. Other psychics don't like them so much), by phone and in person, but I also do party entertainment. With a party, I have a table, and people take turns getting readings. Sometimes we'll do it gallery style, where everyone is together for the readings. It is all in good fun however we do it. Gallery readings are by their choice only...so usually everyone is pretty happy and comfortable with each other making for a pretty good time!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. This is a hard question to answer and maintain strict confidentiality. So the descriptions have to be a little vague.
There are a couple of readings that stand out in my mind: One lady was going through a divorce and was so upset. An image came through that validated some things she had been thinking about on her own. It was an image from her religion, not mine. I wasn't even sure what it was, but it turned out being a real comfort and inspiration for her.

Another time, a gentleman at a party who had several beers came to the reading table "only because my wife made me". He was a real skeptic, wouldn't tell anything ahead of time, but friendly and fun just the same. I got a mental image about construction equipment, caution or a need for maintenance, and red and black wires. He just stared at me. I was worried he was somehow offended, but then he told me he was a contractor and one of their bulldozers had just had a fire because of an electrical problem (he used the word "hot wire").

I think that reading bolstered my belief in all this more than it convinced him! I can see where people might get caught up in the rush of "accuracy" like the second reading, but the emotional comfort of the first reading is what really matters about work like this.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Because of the individual nature of intuitive/tarot/psychic work, there really aren't any standards or research. Technically, and some areas legally, we are just entertainment anyway. So if you had a moment where you are amused, or inspired or diverted from your workaday life, we did our job right.

On the other hand...I am working on some books about tarot, so I'm always reading and researching for that. I'm particularly focused on weaving together the old ideas of tarot with more modern scientific and psychological ideas

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. I think there will be a shift in focus about psychic readings. I think people will, gradually, let go of ideas like predictions and fate. Advanced psychic readers ... even ministers, monks and mystics...have always known that we affect the future and hold our fate in our own hands.

Black and white thinking, perhaps driven by a resurgence of fundamentalist religions or perhaps fed by the horror movie industry, brought the idea of "accurate predictions", fate, and predetermined destiny to the forefront of psychic/intuitive work.

I think it is time for the pendulum to swing back to old original focus of finding our path, making the right choices, being a better person and living a more spiritually fulfilled life.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Actually, I've tried to take the complications OUT of psychic pricing.

I charge flat rates, based on the size of the card spread. Period.

No per-minute charges, no accounts to load, no connection fees, no fancy free samples that hook you into paying more later. I'm not sure I even understand all the ways that some online and phone psychics siphon off as much money as possible out of the psychic reading experience.

Sure, I would like to make boatloads of money doing this, but I want to do right by people too. At the end of the day, it is worth it to know my prices are fair, clear and easy for both of us.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. What you give to the universe returns to you threefold.

Consider your Karma.

Give it serious spiritual thought. Approach doing psychic readings for other people the same way you would approach becoming a minister, a monk or nun, or a social worker.

If you do it right, if you do it with honesty and ethics, it isn't a get rich quick scheme.

It is about spirituality and emotions. If you do it for the wrong reasons or are careless about other people's feelings and vulnerabilities, it will be the psychic that pays the spiritual price in the end..."here or hereafter" as they say.

Walk in light and love.

Testimonials

Incredibly skilled and accurate! She offers a wide variety of card layouts and regardless of which card spread I've done, her readings satisfied my questions and concerns. For questions about a specific topic or concern, I'd consider the one card reading. But if you are looking for a more general or "robust" reading that covers more ground, her other readings may better suit your needs. Regardless of which type of reading you select, you will not be disappointed!! My last reading offered me insightful information and helped me to look at my situation in a way I hadn't considered.
