Take your time and really evaluate the skills of the photographer you are considering. Fancy editing may be eye catching, but nothing replaces a solid foundation of well done composition and lighting. Also, try not to be lured by the lowest bidder. You may find that your special day has come and gone and you are left with underwhelming images for a lifetime.
