Just to tell you a little bit about us, my name is Judy. I am a certified part time nanny and pet sitter. I have criminal clearances as well as a valid driver's license, and of course, references.

You can visit my website if you want to view my profile.

I also own my own business in NJ Alpha Pet where I sell all natural foods and supplements for your pets.

Don, manages a company and has lived in Pittsburgh his entire life. He has references as well.

We are a couple who love pets. We have 4 dogs of our own and we have also done rescue work for years. This is not just a job for us. They are like children to us and your furry friends are treated with the highest quality of care.

We understand how difficult it is leaving your love ones when you go on vacations, or leave them for work. That's where we come in. We can offer care that no other pet sitter can offer-patience and love for all animals.

We offer:

* dog walking (we will go to your home up to 3-4 times as needed)
* what makes us so different is that we don't have a time limit; we stay as long as needed since as we all know, sometimes our pets need extra playtime
* in-home care while on vacation
* boarding in our home in Turtle Creek
* administer any meds your pets might need- oral or injections
* drop off and pick up to and from vets, boarding at our home or anywhere else they might need to be transported.
* playtime every time we dog walk.

Our added services with no charge are:

* bringing in your mail
* watering your plants
* turning the lights on and off

We look forward to hearing from you. Please contact us with any questions or price inquiries.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I usually get alot of pet sitting with me in their home, I do however receive boarding request at my home as well, and that usually works out well but we require at least 2 prior visit for them to play to assure the pet will be happy and comfortable before deciding if its better that I care for the pet at their home or ours

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. There are alot of providers out there that are not good, patient or reliable, our pets are part of the family just like our children and owning a preschool with 86 students for 12 years plus having the pet food bussiness i saw alot and heard alot and It is very hard to find the perfect one that will treat your pets like they deserve to get treated. I think I'm special because I save dogs I dont harm them it takes a special person to be able to love animals unconditional regardless of what they do

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I think patience is the key word in this bussiness animals are like toddlers, they have selective listening, They love to play but, more importantly so many of them have sadly been abused so you knowing and understanding the way they are and body language is very important with this job.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. I think they have to be sure they need a pet sitter, I also think they should check your reference and have a meeting with you prior so you have a chance to meet the pet/s. I also think all the forms should be filled out completely as well as any medications the pets are on. I also feel the profile on their personality should also be completed

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My love and patience for animals is outstanding as well as my references. I have done rescue work which has allowed me to give medications, injections as well as really understand the pets needs. I am also a certified nanny and have a criminal clearences as well as knowing CPR and First Aide

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Seeing the faces of the animals you have helped there are so many animals helpless that need us, it makes me sad knowing that but, it does make me feel good if I can help we saved our Beagle that we had just met 24 hours prior he had Oral Melonamo Cancer the conventional vets gave him 3 months, I brought him to Dr Marty Goldstein a holistic vet very costly but, my baily lived 4 years of happy great life. I do this because I love the animals so much.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. If I can handle older or special needs pets:
I would say very good with my expertize with Baily, we were required to give injections several times a day, as well as supplements. Do I have references:
Yes, I have great reference of clients who are very happy with me and what bring their animal to me or have me come to them over and over again

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. we recently had a couple call us for boarding, the same day they called they wanted to meet and drop off their puppy of 6 months and 3 year old pit bull, when they got to our home they did get along well with our 4 dogs but, i was very leary that they would not check anything on us references nothing just dropped them off to strangers, that upset me alot but for the dogs sake and my fear of where else they would dump them if we werent availiable i changed my plans for the week took some time off since i was working a few extra hours that week, i work for a special needs child part time, well that night the pit bull was still very wired wouldnt settle at all i never seen anything like it considering we played all day up until now it being 12:00am I called the mom for sugested which again was a first for me and she told me leave him outside, I refused to do that, then she said give him benadryl to settle him down, again i also refused, then she told me her and her husband hold him down at night to get him to sleep that really upset me, I wasnt going to do that so i spent the week working on training him and slept on the floor everynight with him. I learned a great lesson that day but, i probably would of taken him again just because it wasnt the pups fault its the parents.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It takes a lot of hard work and a special person to do what I do there are times you might see a family not doing what you agree on or asking you to do something you are not comfortable doing. If that happens you have to be prepared to give up the job to benefit the animal, this job is because you love the pets it's not a big money making job, at least for me its not because i work with families with the price and i love them all regardless of what i make

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. after my little boy droopy neagle got a luekemia shot when he was a pup 2 days later couldnt walk long story but it was from the vaccine, we took him to a holistic vet the best in the country dr, marty goldstein he educated us a lot years of using him and detoxifing droopy and we got injections of b12 to give him. after that we opened a holitic dog food and supplement company at the same time i owned and operated my preschool of 86 students I then started getting regular clients with Alpha Pet and they started telling me horror stories of finding great pet sitters so, I started just helping my clients out then it got a bit busier and I had regulars in NJ. Then we sold are preschool the over head and stress was too much on my parents it was family owned, at that time i moved here to pittsburgh and started worked with a special needs child part time and caring for pets which is my true love

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. i am proud of all my jobs spending time with pets brings life to me every day, they teach me something knew every day when i walk in t my pet sitting jobs and their tails wag and big smiles they run you their toys thats a great feeling. It also feels confident that i can use first aide as well as CPR if an emergency ever happens.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. i research all the times on knew developments online and in the field with rescue

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. defenetily not i love my work with pets, i always say if i win the lottery i am opening up a NO KILL shelter where any pets can live on a farm and be happy every pet should feel like its their loving home and not waiting to die in a kennel that breaks my heart

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I would have to say Alpha pet bussiness it involved a lot of hard work but, i enjoyed every minute it took about 7 months and 6000,00 I still have my liscence to sell it but, with the stores selling I can't charge the same so i gave up selling the food

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. I work with individual familys, every family has different finacial means and I don't think they should settle then less just because they can't afford the higher rate, I am always willing to work with them. I owned a preschool and a pet food company called Alphapet and always worked the same way We never had a set price it was individually based.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. have patience and work in the field prior, either a resque group/kennel it would give them a good look of what they should never do, kennels are not good there is alot of behind the scences that the parents dont see.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. why do people have to hurt and abuse their pets its a question that all pet lovers want to know and need to stop but, how and when we are their voices and all i can say is i will continue to do what i can forever.
