Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Bands, artists, should do pre-production planning, which often saves $100 to $2,000 off of a project. The cost is only $50. However, tours and initial consultations are at no charge. We want you to be comfortable at our studio, or you won't have a good time or good record.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. A band does not walk into a room, play, and a CD pops out of the wall. Making a record takes time. A good record can be done in a fraction of the time that big-name bands do (they take a year or so), but it can not be done in an hour.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. How long have you been doing this? What bands or credits do you have? Do you work in my style of music? Do you offer your opinions (produce) or do I need to bring my own producer? What is your schedule like? Do you charge hourly or by the project? Do you pay for your software or do you use stolen copies?
