Stephen Framil has brought my son's cello-playing skills from rudimentary to advanced, with professionalism and good humor. From emphasizing basics such as scales and fingering, to advanced techniques such as thumb position and bow planning, Stephen has been patient but firm. I could not imagine a better teacher for my son.

My son, James, 10 years old autistic child, has been taking cello lesson with Steve for 11 months. Steve's teaching style seems the right balanced chemistry between encouragement and gentle discipline. This soft style is particularly importnant for my son. James advanced his cello playing quite rapidly despite his challenges in co-ordination skill and weak trunk muscle. In addition, Steve's studio is very spacious and nicely arranged which provide good space between the teacher and the student. Highly recommend Steve as chello teacher.

Dr. Framil has been our son's cello teacher for several years of weekly lessons. He is a wonderful teacher -- friendly, extremely talented, an experienced teacher with a good rapport with my son. I like that while he is not overbearing, he does expect a lot from his students and will call my son on it when he is not working to potential. Dr. Framil is reliable, easy to contact via email and has helped my son become a vastly better cello player. Every time my sons plays his cello and we hear the lovely music, I am grateful to him for his dedication and skill as a teacher!

Dr. Framil has been providing private cello lessons for my son for the past 3 years. He is the 4th teacher we have had, and is by far the best. He has been an attentive and motivating teacher. My son often comments that Dr. Framil is able to identify and clearly communicate which areas need more work, and how to tackle that. He mentored my son through selection of his first owned cello - a big investment for any musician. We would recommend Dr. Framil without reservations.
