Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Website copy, profiles for corporate newsletters (both print and electronic), journalistic-style stories that convey the heart of a company or organization.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Seek someone who has experience in both traditional storytelling and the world of marketing through their writing, because the touches a true storyteller can add will give potential customers even more reason to come to you rather than your competition. Also, seek someone why is knowledgeable in the Internet and how search engine optimization works, but who also knows his or her way around more traditional printed media.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Clients frequently make the mistake of seeking out a website designer before they really know what their message will be. A designer can create a beautiful web presence, but without the right words, the message the client wants to convey is often lost. Besides, a great writer will already work with plenty of great designers who can give you the look you need.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I combine the storytelling abilities of a longtime journalist with a willingness to listen and incorporate into my writing the things a customer wants and needs. The resulting work is engaging, exciting and helps clients stand out from their competition.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The ability to help companies, non-profits and individuals tell their individual stories through great copy writing and help them succeed and profit as a result.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. People often ask why they should hire a copy writer in addition to - or even before - hiring a web designer. My answer is that, while web designers can always make beautiful websites, they frequently have no experience in writing the words that will effectively convey the heart of your message. Hiring a fantastic writer to provide copy for a beautiful website will double your ability to reach customers and generate more business.
