FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We take regular continuing education classes offered by RI Builders Association, to stay up to date with safety protocols. We put many of our employees through Lead Safe training. Our painters always come to us experienced, however they spend many weeks shadowing longer term employees to get to know our job expectations.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Glenn became a painter’s apprentice at the age of 14, so he’s been in the business for 23 years. He started his own company with his brother at 16 painting houses around his hometown. He also spent 5 years working at Sherman Williams, where he learned the industry inside and out by taking every class they had on offer. He started Doctor Colors with his wife Julia in 2017.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It is ALWAYS better to hire someone competent and professional who expects high quality from their team and uses high quality products, rather than someone who is cheap. Oftentimes you will have to pay for someone to come make mistakes made by the cheap/rushed option anyway, plus your house will need repainting earlier if poor quality products are used. We see this all the time!
