Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Any Mold, Water, Fire or Flood damaged property. We service commercial and residential properties.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do your research. There is the right way and the wrong way to treat mold. Make sure you hire someone with the proper knowledge and experience for the job. Also, watch out for potential conflicts of interest with companies that Test, Remediate, and Repair all together. There is no third party to agree or disagree with their findings. Even if a company sends out a mold sample to be tested, how do you know what sampl they sent? Think about it.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. All of our services are Environment friendly. We are a true GREEN company. Our work not only benefits our customers, but the Earth as well.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Helping people. We are truly in the business of helping people in a time of need. After all we are working for our neighbors here in the great state of Rhode Island.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. " Why can't I just wipe mold down with bleach?"
The answer is simple. Bleach works on NON-POROUS materials, however DOES NOT work on POROUS materials. Here is why. Mold has an exterior shell that the bleach will no penetrate fast enough before it evaporates. After the chlorine evaporates then you only have water left behind. So all you have done is add more water to existing Mold growth.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That you have to be certified and it actually takes much training and experience to know how to properly treat mold and water damage per the EPA. You just can't go into this business overnight.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. During the historic floods in March/April 2010, we came to the aid of an 86yr old woman in West Greenwich, who's basement was flowing with water for the better part of three weeks. Team Envirotek was at the property to check pumps and water levels several times each week. When the waters receeded we were able to completely dry out and treat the basement for any contaminents. This just was done properly and thourough, even though we knew ahead of time she could not pay us. We were happy to help someone in need.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. At team Envirotek we are committed to training and maintaining a high level of knowledge in our industry. There is always something to learn each and every day.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Go golfing instead :) LOL Just kidding. I would go through the proper channels and get all the right certifications, insurance and licenses. Then I would start slow and not take on more than I could handle because you work long hard hours on creating a good name for yourself and it only takes a fraction of a second to ruin it all.
