Meditation reason
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My eclectic melding of Kripalu, viniyoga, vinyasa, and restorative yoga and Buddhist meditation will shake up your practice with new techniques, offering practices appropriate for your body/mind/spirit. An emphasis on nonviolence in body and mind will be supported by mindfulness and breath awareness. Seeing the tension melt from participants' faces as yoga does its magic. The way people seem to float out of class. Hearing about students' improved blood pressure, lung capacity, peacefulness and clarity.

I take Yoga three days a week and Karina Lutz is my Sunday morning Instructor at the Mediator on 50 Rounds Avenue in Providence. I like it that she holds postures and doesn't change quickly from one to another. I believe this creates strength and endurance. Karina gives individual attention and modifies instruction for certain individuals. I have an eye spasm that she has helped me with: providing a small pillow to rest on my eye during shavasana. She also occasionally creates energy with her hands and places them gently upon my closed eyes. Both bring much relief. Karina assists each of us as needed in forming the best posture possible for a particular asana. We meditate and we pause to feel energy that we create. I look forward to Yoga with Karina as the highlight of each Sunday.

Karina is an excellent instructor with a wealth of experience that she brings to every class in her teaching. Karina is good at suggesting adjustments for anyone in need. At the end of a class you can feel as if you have been on a mindful journey both physically and spiritually in the spirit of yoga.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have studied with many teachers, from Baba Hari Das to Gary Kraftsow, Mother Mayatitananda to Joanne Friday. This has given me a broad palate to work from to offer you options you may test in your own practice--and see what works for you at this point in your spiritual development and bodily abilities. Keep looking until you find the techniques and teacher(s) who support your own dynamic unfolding. Training: Kripalu 200 hr. yoga teacher training, certified Integrative Yoga Therapy, module one Foundations of Svaroopa Yoga 5-day workshop/retreats with Gary Kraftsow, Joanna Macy, Jack Kornfield, Thich Nhat Hahn Beginning Anew training, Joanne Friday Hospice volunteer training Crisis intervention training Autistic adult caregiver training Grief counseling training

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

As always, take care of your self and modify something else. I will be making the practice stronger or gentler according to your edge -- the place you will get the most benefit, where sensation is strong but not painful or straining.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

i am not a personal trainer. I only teach yoga. I'm a deeply committed environmentalist, so I discourage people from driving more than 8 miles to class--if you live farther away from Chepachet, there is a yoga teacher closer to you, so please use her, for the sake of life on earth!
