Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Handyman - painting, light carpentry, mechanical, minor plumbing, and minor electrical, some restoration. Cabinet, furniture, and toy assembly, IKEA, Pottery Barn, etc. I love to see the finished product, whether it being something I put together, built, or restored. I get great satisfaction fixing and re-purposing things. I hate to see useful things get tossed.

I cannot comment on David Gagnon's services but Darlene Gagnon is definitely not an interior designer. I had provided her with the apartment layout in advance of a consultation appointment. She showed up and didn't even have a tape measure. When I pressed her for design ideas, she had nothing original to offer. She charged me $50 for the consultation and agreed to provide a written design plan although she couldn't provide a date when that might be completed. She called me that same night to say she wouldn't be providing the written detail because she felt we didn't work well together. She said that she would refund half of the consultation fee which she now refuses to provide. Now that I have engaged another real professional interior designer, it is clear that Darlene is just a joke.

We had an arduous task of putting together an IKEA kitchen, and after looking at the scale of the project we decided to hire a professional assembler to do the work. David was the first guy to respond to the post, and his work was outstanding. He finished the job efficiently and correctly. We were extremely glad to find someone like David, and we would definitely use him again for any sort of handyman/assembly work that may come up. Highly recommended.

Dave put together a bed and headboard, both with storage compartments, for me. He was efficient and very polite. I would definitely recommend him!

David was the best assembler I have had over the last few years. He put together a lamp, a rolling cart table and even cut the legs down on my bar stools to fit the table. Thank you Daivd for a quick, professional, extremely reasonable job. The furniture was from Create and Barrel.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I typically have a minimum charge of $75 if I need to travel to my customer and it covers up to 2 hours. No minimum charge for items brought to me for repair or restoration.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started when I was a kid taking things apart and putting them back together and it went on from there.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would check references and ask previous customers about the quality of the work performed, time it took, and if they left the area clean when finished.
