Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. There are a lot of operators out there that advertise full computer repair services and years of experience, but whose knowledge is limited to basic component replacement and running a virus scan on your computer. They often charge outrageous rates knowing that it costs $150 for Best Buy just to look at your computer.

We would love to have your business, but above all, we recommend that you do your homework - check out the Better Business Bureau for bad reports, and ask for and talk to references. Keep in mind though that most companies will only give you references to their favored clients or friends and family posing as clients. Try asking them about the types of problems they had and the fixes the company applied to filter out the fakers from true clients.

Our clients always know what their computer's diagnosis was and what solution was provided and we give them that in writing.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. At Boyden Logic, we value the success of our clients and use technology to help them reach their business goals. We listen to our clients needs and match them up with a solution that is easy for them to use, that is cost effective for their budget, and that will produce the results they need.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question we get is "Why is my computer running so slow?".

The answer to this depends on a lot of factors, from aging computer components to viruses and spyware infections.

Many outfits will just run an anti-virus scan or a web-based utility that temporarily resolves the issue. We will perform a full analysis of both the computer's symptoms and the web browsing habits of the client.

Most computer infections that cause a computer to be slow are enabled by a client clicking on a pop-up window that looks like a legitimate Microsoft Windows dialog box. By educating the client on the proper way to react to unexpected or confusing pop-up windows, we can help them reduce their exposure to viruses and malware. We also offer remote support services as part of a service contract package that allows us to quickly look at any suspect window and recommend an action before the client unintentionally infects themselves.
