FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$150-500 per hour. One hour minimum for solo violin or guitar/vocals, depending upon duration and travel distance. Wedding ceremonies include up to 90 minutes, but all other events with guitar and vocals or instrumental violin are a one hour minimum and start at $150 local in Columbia, SC up to $1000 for a 400 mile radius, depending upon distance and indoor/outdoor venue. Beach weddings typically cost more due to sound system requirements, wear on equipment, more difficult set up charges and access to the location. Band rates are $750-$3500 depending upon distance, number of attendees and duration of event. A ceremony would include my time for up to 90 minutes, music for 20-30+ minutes prior to the start of the ceremony, music for seating, processional and wedding party music, anything you want during the ceremony and then recessional music of your choice. I am now offering a lower cost alternative to cocktail hour, dinner and reception music. As an acoustic solo or duo act, we are not loud like full bands. The trio IncrediBlues can provide the full electrified range of instruments at low or high volume. You let us know and we can either turn up or turn down based on your preference and the venue acoustics. However, we can still offer DJ style dance music or any client requested songs during breaks.Typically, DJ's or bands cost at least $2,500 to $5,000 and up depending upon the number of members. I can still offer the same high quality music, but at a drastically reduced price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I quote the job and may follow up, but I do not like to pester the customer. If someone shows interest, I will get more details and an understanding of what the client wants in the way of music and entertainment. Customers get to choose the songs from my list and I will also learn several 'NEW' songs to the best of my ability if requested. If the client is interested, I will send a contract and deposit information in a timely fashion. Once I receive a deposit, the date is locked in on my calendar.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a classically trained violinist from the age of 8 and studied under the violinist Edward Bontempo from 5th grade through Senior year of high school. He was a graduate of Juliard School of Music and Yale University. When I turned seventeen, my focus was on guitar. I took private lessons for several years while playing semi-professionally in various bands in the New England area. During college, I minored in music at Central Connecticut State University while continuing to stay involved with violin performing with the University Orchestra and several Community groups and orchestras in the Connecticut area.
